The New Yorker and HSBC - International Weekend

Rochester, NY, May 13-16, 2010

New Yorker subscribers and HSBC clients were treated to four days of internationally themed events in Rochester. The series kicked off with an advance screening of the award-winning French film, “Welcome,” followed by a discussion with film scholar Bo Smith and Rochester film critic Jack Gardener. The next night, 200 guests sampled local wines and beers pared with global cuisine as they watched New Yorker cartoonists create improvisational cartoons at local venue ArtisanWorks. On Saturday, 50 children (and their parents) were treated to cartooning lessons at a festive breakfast and lunch. The weekend wrapped with an internationally themed dinner at the historic Bamba Bistro in Rochester. HSBC’s message, “Unlocking the World’s Potential,” was the prevailing theme at these four high-profile events.
