7 Days of Genius

Genius—we know it when we see it. But what does genius mean, exactly?

92Y’s 7 Days of Genius is a unique compilation of events, classes and interactive outlets to illuminate the nature of genius. Beginning March 1, the festival explores how we define genius and how the power of genius emerges across communities, cultures and industries.

Highlights include a March Madness-style bracket—the Ultimate Genius Showdown—where everyone can vote as 16 of history’s greatest minds and resources go head to head; twitter chats about genius using #thatsgenius; Walter Isaacson on the Innovative Genius of Ben Franklin, Albert Einstein and Steve Jobs; The Genius of America with David Petraeus (March 5); David Brooks on Genius, God and Morality (March 9); and a start-up competition, where entrepreneurs will compete for prizes that could advance their genius business ideas – the winner will be announced at the Genius of the Start-Up event with Barbara Corcoran and Jonathan Medved (March 3). If you can’t make it to an event, you can watch most of them live on 92Y Livecast.
